Falling Rocks & Leaping Deer
The road to Montana is vast, long, empty, unending and ever changing
Not describable (is that a word?)
Winding road kisses distant horizon
Hwy 12 north glides into I-94 west
A never-ending highway
Dotted occasionally with falling rock and leaping deer signs
Guam's Pacific Ocean & Philippine Sea came to mind
The vastness of terrain meeting sky mimics
the ocean's vastness wetting the sky
I missed home for a bit
Mind images took eye stage creating
Wolf clouds
Car mounds
Hay bales in the distance? A large cattle herd
Farming equipment standing guard
It was as if God-Creator reached down with His hand
scooped up earth
sprinkled it across the landscape
creating lumps, bumps, seams, and water spaces
Creator fingers zigging terrain - rivers & streams
Lightning-whipped sky invited us into Billings MT
Oil-tainted air flared my nostrils - refinery
We encountered very few people on the journey to here
The vastness of the place hides many things

It sounds like a little slice of earth to remind us of how small we are, but how much effort he put into creating all of this for us, doesn't it?
Oh my gosh, Paul;
I know you love Texas but you've got to get on your bike, with Laura, and see the vast beauty of this part of our country.
It would be wonderful. It continues to be wonderful (and that word is not enough) as we drive and see more than my eyes can take in.
