It's Been a Month ... and the Dream's Alive!
Wow! It's been a month since I've written on this site. Well, I've been busy. Some days I've felt like I've been spinning my wheels and other days I've felt like I've made great progress. Sometimes I've felt spinning and great progress at the same time! All is not lost and I continue to learn the art of film editing.
There have been setbacks. I would say significant but I realize that editing is not a flash in the pan adventure. It's meticulous. Therefore, I've got to slow my mind's perception of how this film should be written and produced during this editing process.
Our challenges, my challenges, have been equipment. Although we have access to film editing hardware and software, we need portable hard drives that can work with the computers we've got access to. This past week, I just got up from the computer and walked away - needed to step away and just think and pray about how 19 hours of footage would be transformed into a 60 minute documentary. Couldn't see a way through my troubles - so, I've taken a break.
Oh, have I forgotten to tell you that I'm doing this on a shoestring, that's shredded, and burning! But I'm still doing this thing. We've only traveled, within 2 months, through 20 states, driving 9000 miles. Our 21st state was a weekend jaunt and our 22nd state will happen on another weekend. Bit by bit, 50 states and US territories will be traversed giving the people we come in contact with a voice. We're new here and looking for God. Can you tell us where we can find him?
