Roanoke VA

It's after midnight and we've been resting - in a new state.
There are no effective words to describe what I've experienced over the last four days and three nights. But, when I left Charlie & Ruth, there were tears.
So, I'm going to let the imprint of a place where life in community is lived set for a moment within my soul.
There will be longer expression of words shortly.

Grace Encounters

He's called Miller in his establishment. I shall not remember the food of Charlotte NC, I will remember a moment in a story I was not expecting to hear when a strong man's blue-eyes glistened from the memory of what thrust him into the arms of a God of grace and forgiveness. Truth moments don't transfer well to film; reflections within eye-water pools of blue. What do any of us have to lose to gain genuine peace? Miller encountered grace and I got to watch!

Grace should not be uncommon - but common, something I encounter each time I meet you (whether I know you or not). I've never written I was a Christian. Sometimes it's a label I didn't want to wear; but, I'm learning about grace and forgiveness. I am a follower of Jesus and learn from his words daily.

Here in Greensboro NC we're staying with an actor couple, who open their home each month to share a meal with almost 50 people. Charlie & Ruth call it The Grub. In this place I feel safe and compelled to some form of creativity. They heart-live their craft. We've been here two days and although dark-sky overcast the neighborhood's quaint beauty is restful.
