A Safe House in Indiana

It's mid morning
I've been reading
thinking
loading a good ole 35mm slr camera with film

When I stand behind a camera there's some sense of detachment
some sense of safety
but that's not true
I see what goes on around the shot, the scene
I have been drawn in
to this safe space we create for those who speak with us

And now, I'm resting in a home
a safe house
created for us off the beaten path

ok,
so i don't blog regularly
it's not that i don't know what to say
i don't know if i want to share
my disappointments
my fears

and then there is the bothersome concern of proper punctuation & grammar
i just want to make a film
a documentary

'talking' about it via the internet is new to me - still

12 months ago we left dallas tx heading west
20 states and 9000 miles

today, tuesday, june 5 we reacclamated ourselves to handling camera equipment
and talking with people
it was fun

i was reminded why i am passionate about this film project

my ink-filled journals chronicled the first part of our journey
and this time around i will actively practice this blog thingy
